A dream that found its way

I wanted to be an artist for as long as I can remember. As a child, I dreamed of drawing cartoons and creating animated worlds. Life took me in a different direction at first, and that dream had to wait.

After university, I realized I didn’t want to keep postponing the life I actually wanted. I decided to change professions and find my way back into art. At first, I thought I would become a 3D animator — but by chance, my first opportunity led me to a VFX artist position at a small studio in Kharkiv.

I was fascinated almost immediately. Visual effects felt like a place where several things I loved could exist at once: we create imagery, animation, and a little bit of magic, while also solving technical problems behind the scenes. It is both artistic and technical, intuitive and analytical.

That combination is still what excites me most. Every effect can bring a new problem to solve, a new technique to learn, or an entirely different way of thinking. I love working where disciplines overlap — and somewhere along the way, I realized that visual effects had become exactly the kind of work I had been looking for.
